Royal Golf Apartments
On the north side of the Dornoch Firth, on the east coast that runs from the Moray Firth up into Sutherland, Dornoch enjoys the status of a well-to-do holiday resort.
It is blessed with a particularly sunny climate (in Scottish terms!) thanks to its sheltered position, and has miles of sandy beaches to match. The extensive sand dunes in the area are perfect for links golf, and the Royal Dornoch championship course being ranked 6th best in the world by Golf Digest and No 1 in Scotland.
In addition Castle Stuart Golf Links, Inverness, is one of Scotlands newest and widely acclaimed links courses having hosted the Scottish Open in 2011, 2012 & 2013 and again in July this year 2016, being ranked 56th best in the world.
Brora Golf Club is located 16 miles North of the Royal Golf Apartments and is right next to our Links Apartments, just a few minutes’ walk from our sister Hotel, The Royal Marine in Brora.
Established in 1891, the 18 hole course was redesigned by James Braid, the five times Open Champion and prolific designer of golf courses, including Gleneagles and Carnoustie. As a traditional seaside links course, you’ll need every club in your bag to reach the 18th hole.
Ten minutes away lies Golspie Golf Club, one of James Braid’s creations that combines classic links, heath and parkland holes. The layout of the course is easy to walk and golfers can enjoy the scenic backdrops of the Dornoch Firth and Ben Bhraggie.
